Imagine you’re in the front row of a grand balcony at a performance of Georges Bizet’s opera, Carmen, and just as the children’s chorus of street urchins begins to sing, “Avec la garde montante…” the subtitles stop working. Unless you know French, I bet you'd be sitting there asking yourself, “What the heck are those little American kids who are pretending to be Spanish kids singing about in French?" Now you understand how I feel about photography.
